Please note that each shelter will have its own process for foster and adoption requests and we cannot guarantee that each interested adopter will receive a dog. If you're interested in adopting, fostering or donating to a local shelter or rescue in your area that is assisting with the placement of the dogs, please contact the individual organizations below for more information. (Most organizations share their wish lists on their websites or on retail sites such as Chewy or Amazon.) If you prefer to donate supplies, ask the shelters and rescues what they currently need or check their online wish lists for items you can have shipped directly to them. Monetary donations will help these organizations provide the best care possible and equip them to continue to assist in large-scale rescue operations. Donateįinally, one of the easiest ways to help is to donate directly to the shelters and rescues taking in beagles. Reach out to the organizations directly to learn about current volunteer opportunities and how they can use your skills. You may be working directly with animals or helping with administrative, fundraising or other behind-the-scenes tasks. Volunteering can look like a lot of different things-it’s not just scrubbing down kennels.
VolunteerĪnother way to help the beagles hands-on is to volunteer with one of our shelter and rescue partners. And if you don’t end up with a beagle from this situation, consider opening your heart and home to one of the tens of thousands of shelter pets currently in need. If a beagle isn’t a good fit for your family, consider adopting a different canine (or feline) companion-you’ll be freeing up space and alleviating the workload for the group’s dedicated staff and volunteers during a busy time.

Reach out to the shelters and rescues directly to learn about their adoption procedures and how to get started. Fostering is a great option if you’re not able to care for a dog permanently or want to make sure a pup is a good match before making an adoption decision. Our partners can only help us when they have the capacity (often through foster homes) to take in additional animals. If you have the capacity, consider fostering a beagle or a litter of puppies to help them acclimate to life in a home environment. Check out the list of shelter partners who offered to take in these beagles and find them loving homes. You can be part of this historic effort and help pave the path to a much brighter future for 4,000 dogs.
